GAUCHE RUNNING

Washington DC supergroup Gauche caught our attention back in January with their brazen B-52s-esque diss track 'Conspiracy Theories'. Consisting of members of Priests and Downtown Boys, the unhinged quintet have shared news of their effectively-titled debut album A People’s History of Gauche. New single 'Running' opens with a funky bass line that nods to The Clash's iconic 'Magnificent Seven' before an onslaught of wiry guitar noodlings and ska-y sax honks join the mix. Disorientating layers of confrontational vocals sit firmly at the forefront, expressing feelings of frustration, anger and exhaustion, repeating the lines, 'I'm running out of options and I'm tired of being empty handed.' Hiring in a green screen to create some equally bombastic visuals, the video for 'Running' is every bit as quirky as Gauche's tunes. A People’s History of Gauche will be released on the 12th of July. -Holly Mullineaux
